Colossians 3 and beyond – audio

Here we continue in our study of Colossians with rabbit trails to supporting and complementary scriptures and commentary to fill in a broader picture.

The epistle was written to Christians who had an understanding of the apostles’ doctrine, and at that time there was no where near the confusion or contradictory statements over what it meant to be a Christian as there is today.

They were in covenant with their Creator, and knew and had seen the power first hand of God’s Spirit working through the apostles.

It was an awesome time, and God had great expectations of those who would look to Him to become lighthouses to show forth Jesus Christ’s testimony in them.

We believe the same covenant and God exists today, and that if people will believe and obey without compromise, the same God is willing to do all He was then.

Indeed, He does it for His own great name’s sake (Eze 36:22,23), and is working His eternal unchanging purpose.
