How God rebuked the Christians when the roots of denominationalism began – 1 Corinthians 1 – audio
The call for Christ’s assembly unified under His one Spirit, in the teaching of the apostles, was not considered optional or a suggestion.
It was first called for by the Lord (John 17:20-23) and reiterated by the apostles whose goal was to establish a witness and testimony that – if people obeyed – would demonstrate with great effectiveness that God was among them.
When the Corinthians began breaking into sub-sects – or factions, or divisions – the root of today’s denominationalism – the apostle Paul was greatly upset and wrote them saying not to do it.
Lord bless you.
