God’s will for unity in the Spirit and other meditations – audio

    April 7, 2018 /

Jesus Christ said in John 17:20-23 that His bride the church should be one with Him, the Father and Holy Spirit – in unity. This message started off as a study of Ephesians 4, but went off track quite a bit on random other subjects as well. May the Lord bless you!

The church of Jesus Christ and His will for us all – audio

    March 30, 2018 /

This started as a study of Ephesians 3, but became more about the church and what God wants – a bride read for Himself and individuals who know Christ in them! Things got off to a slow start with several interruptions in the first half hour but the cadence gets better and more productive although random discussion ensues. Discussions of the Spirit-led life called for a variety of scriptural references and lively talk. Lord bless you!

Jesus said ‘come to Me’ as little children – audio sermon

    March 4, 2018 /

The gospels record several instances in which Jesus Christ told His followers to “come to Me” – with the implication being that they also stay with Him – as little children. The relationship of abiding in the Lord is first spiritual, from the inward depths of a person. Shallow or false religiosity may go a long way in duplicating the outward appearance of a Christian life, but God who deals with our spirits by His Spirit is satisfied by nothing less than authentic spirit-to-Spirit relationship. His goal is to restore us to Himself, in love, and by so doing create a testimony and witness that cannot be falsified by the…

    The Epistle of 1 John – Chapters 3 & 4 – Audio

    February 16, 2018 /

After a hiatus, we’re back teaching on the first epistle of John. Aimed at the heretical Gnostics and Docetics, the epistle is like a litmus test for Christians. It is also a deep look at the heart of God. Lord bless you!

Against ‘cessationism’ – and why gifts of the Spirit have continued to this day – audio

    February 4, 2018 /

The New Testament records gifts of the Spirit granted to the believers and while no scriptures state these would be taken away before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, there are those who say they long since “ceased.” The extra-biblical doctrine called “cessationism” contends that with either: 1) the finalization of the New Testament, or 2) the death of the last apostle John – who wrote the last book – God withdrew the gifts that were only temporary, they say. Those who take the opposite stance have been called “continuists” or “continuationists” because they advocate the gifts have continued to this day. Without doubt, this is a can of worms.…
