The Christian’s incredible capacity to accept false assurance

In light of what the New Testament says, so many Christians fall woefully short of God’s will for them, yet may think all is fine.

It is possible for a Christian to think that all is well when nothing is as it should be. It is possible to be so sure that one will correct or call out other Christians they perceive are in sin or error, and yet they themselves are blind to many errors, or sins, or hold lies as truth mixed in with their overall understanding of the faith.

The proof of these statements come from Jesus Christ. He said test by fruit. We are told to examine fruit of those who say they represent God. This is not the same as “judging” that so many are quick to say is a no-no. A look at the fruit across the broad spectrum of what is known as Christianity reveals much.

The fruits – or results – God calls for are all written for us to see, and it is plain they are not being kept. God’s New Covenant in Christ says He will fill each person and enable them to know Him, walk in His Spirit, and perform His will to an amazing degree.

It was a command God’s people be known for their love one for another that was equal in kind and scope to the love Jesus gave His disciples. Further, it was effectively His command that those who took the name of Christ never divide into sub-sects or denominations.

For 2000 years those who wielded the name of Christ and sought to establish their voice as authoritative have witnessed the Lord’s non-negotiable injunctions not being kept and this has produced terrible great consequences Christians today live within.

That many who say they serve the true God bear witness one against another in so many aspects of the faith is proof what many have said is God;’s work was in fact not the pure work of God. He never contradicts Himself and wants His people united. That they are not is a proof of the incredible fallibilihy iof man.

One of the central features of human fallibility is to absolutely believe you know something you do not, or be sure you are right when you are wrong.

This message touches on this, and gives the solution. The solution is come to Jesus. For real.
