A “self evident truth” is something that proves itself. It does not need further evidence if one is just honest with the truth or doesn’t try to explain facts away. He promises a new Spirit but conditions of heart the Lord spoke of must be in place. Grace is not just “unmerited favor,” it is also God’s empowerment. This is the full doctrine of the apostles. God’s obedient ones give Him maximum glory. They walk with Jesus, and stand by grace through faith. It is all preparation for eternity, and to be a testimony of God now. Lord bless you.
