The New Covenant – Hebrews 8, etc. – Audio
Thank God for the New Covenant! In our round-about study of Hebrews, the epistle which warns against drifting away, and explains the priesthood of Jesus Christ, talks also of a “better covenant with better promises.” That is the New Covenant, as highlighted in Heb. 8. The Will of God
All human beings are hard-wired to have needs fulfilled in order to live in a state of comfort. Christians in particular are those called to have faith, see God’s hand, and believe Him in the context of their lives. They too need a form of “comfort” (or at least sense of purpose, etc.) in the context of their spiritual lives. The Bible says the highest purpose of the Gospel is that all glory goes to God. Man was made to live in God’s presence, in the Garden of Eden, and ever since Adam and Eve were ejected, independently minded and fallen mankind has been trying to make do. Why do Christians live?
We who name the name of Christ do so for God’s good pleasure. Many people emphasize aspects of the whole truth, but the Word of God covers many things important to God that fall under the overarching dictate of surrender to His will. That is, God’s creation – man and the fallen angels – have rebelled, become independent in their minds and thoughts, and redemption is a restoration of man to obedience. The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus – Audio
A foundational topic of a normal Christian life, the “law of the spirit” is something everyone should know. Like the lilies of the field that just grow, the law is a spontaneous phenomenon experienced by those rightly abiding in Christ, in faith, and this overcomes the “law of sin” (or the sin nature).
