How the Protestant Reformation helped pull the rug out from under God’s desire for Christian unity – Audio sermon
January 6, 2019 /The Protestant Reformation did many good things but also brought with it unintended consequences. One of these was the way the reformers from 1517 forward overwhelmingly approached the faith – and the precedents they established set the tone and defined the faith for those that followed to this day. Namely, many a Christian thinker has sought to delve into the spiritual work known as the Holy Bible with an intellect of the “carnal” mind. This carnal mind is the thoughts, biases, feelings and sensibilities of a person of the natural order, and not necessarily enlightened purely by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:20 says false teachings (heresies) are one of the…

Being a disciple of Jesus Christ – sermon audio
December 2, 2018 /Modern Evangelicalism and related American-born versions of the Christian faith have been said to have simplified the formula of becoming a Christian, but the New Testament tells a different story. The Lord Jesus Christ and His chosen apostles wanted disciples who would represent the kingdom of God in Spirit and truth. In the course of His teaching, Jesus laid down several conditions to being a true Christian. A Christians is by extension a “disciple” and it is a life covenant. This sermon goes over a few of the major points mostly quoting Jesus, along with a few other biblical passages. May the Lord bless you!

The eternal perspective – and what God really wants – audio sermon
November 4, 2018 /Humans are eternal beings who often live in the paradigm of this world, their cares, and not so mindful of what the Bible teaches is the true reality, or “eternal perspective.” This is sad but not unexpected of those who do not name Christ, but what about those who do say they represent the kingdom of God on earth? Since the Protestant Reformation put on steroids a tendency in the carnal theologians who came before. so many have argued with scripture verses allegedly backing them that they know the way of Christ.

What do you really know? – audio sermon
August 5, 2018 /The Bible is replete with the understanding that true knowledge of the things of God must be shown by God Himself. This work is done by the Holy Spirit who inspired the scriptures and who must open one’s eyes to the accurate portrayal of the scripture’s meaning. In 1 Corinthians 3, the apostle Paul points out that even Christians performing works of the Spirit (the spiritual gifts) can yet be “carnal.” Carnal simply means they are operating from the fleshly side of their makeup, and the Bible teaches we have a “flesh” (the carnal identity) in opposition to a “spirit” (united with Christ (1 Cor. 6:17). The multitude of understandings…

Becoming a ‘spiritual’ Christian – audio sermon
July 1, 2018 /The goal of the gospel is that those born again become what the Apostle Paul meant when he described “spiritual” Christians. Although Jesus said one must become like a little child to enter His kingdom, He did not mean that they should stay “babes” forever. In 1 Corinthians 3, the Apostle Paul rebukes the Corinthian Christians for being just this – carnal, not spiritual, and thus babes in Christ, when in the mind of God, it was expected that they become spiritual. Put simply, a spiritual Christian is one whose new, made-alive spirit in Christ is in control, and brings the whole person into subjection to Christ in them. By…
