The Will of God: A Christian’s Prime Motivation
There are so many people doing and saying things in the name of Jesus Christ, but what was the Lord’s prime motivation? The will of God. John 4:34 – Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Matt 26:39 – He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Eph 5:17 – Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be…

God Wants Us To Know Immanuel Every Day
One of the names for Jesus Christ is Immanuel and it is most precious – the gift God gives to all who have eyes that can see, and ears that can hear, and a heart that can believe and obey. Matthew 1:23 – Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Today is Christmas, and it’s old news that it’s not really Jesus’ birthday, but God who sees the heart is more concerned with how people regard His Son, and whether they receive Him as their own Immanuel.

God’s sense of urgency
The Bible says God sent Jesus Christ as the way to God and how many of God’s people have heard this but not let it sufficiently move them? In 2015 the Centers for Disease Control reported U.S. deaths at 2,712,630 million – 86,212 more than in 2014 – and this works out to an average 7,462 U.S. residents died per day, every day in 2015. How many of them died without Jesus? How many of them had heard the name “Jesus Christ” and had heard “Jesus saves,” but the words, though they passed through their minds, never sunk in with saving faith? And, among Christians, or those who say they…

Why did God send Jesus Christ?
There are countless opinions about Jesus Christ and what Christianity ought to look like, but what does the Bible say? From the time the Lord said, “I will build my church” (Mt. 16:18), it was evident that the God who does not change had a vision. The implementation of that vision to establish an assembly Jesus would build (Ps 127:1) was then begun by the apostles and prophets from the day the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost (Acts 2). Ephesians 2:19-21 – Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built…

How Christians May Be Bound in Mental ‘Strongholds’
In Second Corinthians 10 the Apostle Paul speaks of “strongholds” to describe mindsets in people which are like a fortress locking in falsehoods and keeping out the truth of God. These strongholds are thoughts, ideas, feelings, and the like which help give the person his/her identity, form a worldview of life, or the church, or God, Christ, the Christian life, etc. They may have come from your own reading of the Bible, or someone you trusted to tell you what the Bible says, or anywhere else. Thoughts that form a false picture of things pertaining to God make a person truth-resistant and not even know it. Indeed, they stand to…
