Since the beginning of the church, Christians have been warned against “the flesh,” and exhorted to believe God and become spiritual (1 Cor 3). The New Covenant is a better covenant with better promises (Heb 8:6) and grace is both “unmerited favor,” and that which provides God’s spiritual enablement to know Him, hear Jesus’ voice (Jn 10), and be sons and daughters who “walk in the spirit (Gal 5, Rom 8). Salvation in Christ – Romans 5 Study and Side Commentary – Sept 1, 2017
Here we continue on in Romans, chapter 5, but a lot of side comments and even some quotes are read from ante-Nicene leaders (pre-300 AD / Constantine). SEE ALSO: Salvation By Faith in Jesus Christ – Romans 4 Bible Study Those leaders words were read not to supercede the scriptures, but to merely show how they understood the scriptures. Here is the recordings and notes from an overview of the church. Not said in the recording is this is a counterpoint to all the various people out there negating the importance of the body of Christ. Some people have said they want a personal relationship with God, but don’t see the importance of the body. Others go so far as to say it is not necessary in a Christian life. Here’s a continuation on our study line by line of Romans. It actually goes on tangents as the Spirit leads. SEE ALSO: Romans Bible Study – Friday July 21, 2017 In Romans, Paul begins to outline his gospel by commenting on conditions of peoples of the world who do not serve the true God. It is not pretty, as man is a sinner by nature, and needs the cleansing of Jesus’ blood, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit to make him a new creature in Christ.
