Why did God send Jesus Christ?

There are countless opinions about Jesus Christ and what Christianity ought to look like, but what does the Bible say? From the time the Lord said, “I will build my…

    Christianity’s root problem

    November 1, 2019 /

Many Christians today lament the increase of lukewarmness, apostasy, false teaching, and general disinterest in what is called “the church.” Many raise the alarm in differing degrees of severity, but most really do not know the half of the real problem. It has been said that a person is either “part of the problem or part of the solution,” and it is an amazing fact that even among those Christians with awakened consciences who think they are part of the solution because they speak against a problem, they too may be part of the problem. This is entirely possible because the “problem” is broader, and deeper than many imagine. It…

Christians are to be the citizens of heaven on earth

    October 27, 2019 /

Christians may be residents of any nation of this world, but their first allegiance and identity is they are the eternal citizens of heaven on earth. This is the express will of God, as written all over the place in the New Testament. It is the entire thrust of what God and the first apostles wanted to see accomplished. Jesus Christ gave His life in the hope that those who truly love Him would recognize it, go through a series of healthy godly responses, and choose to give their lives in return. Here is an overview of some of these points. More could be said. May the Lord bless you.

What is a religious fleshly Christian?

    October 20, 2019 /

A “religious fleshly Christian” is one whose faith is largely held within their earthly minds, not their spirits. The religious flesh is defined as when the natural mind apart from Jesus’ Spirit is in control, and has the preeminence. Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind … Col 2:18 In reality the spirit and mind are integrated into a person, but the Bible plainly distinguishes between “carnal” or “fleshly” believers, and – sadly – such ones are prevalent today, though they may not know…

Who is permitted to be a Christian?

    October 13, 2019 /

Christianity is God’s perfect solution to all that is wrong with humankind. It is free, but not cheap, and Jesus said many will presume they are right with God, but are not. This message talks about God’s standards, and conditions Jesus Himself laid down for who can be His disciple. Message outline notes: The Standard • Christianity is God’s solution to sin, the effects of the fall of man, and all that is wrong with human lives. • It is to be a work between God and man – a life covenant; life for life. • It is first about Jesus. • One ought to see Jesus. Recognize He is…

The human spirit (instead of) the religious flesh

    October 6, 2019 /

Inside of your body are two identities – your human spirit and what the Bible calls your “flesh.” Christians, those born of the spirit, are called to develop their spirit, and all its capacities that are vital to follow and obey Jesus, and inherit eternal life. Sadly, the evidence is plain that many mistake the works of their earthly minds (apart from union with God) as the spirit. This we call the “religious flesh,” which mimics or imitates the spirit but which is really the product of the natural mind, the flesh. The proof of this statement is that those who call themselves Christian bear witness one against the other…

Matthew 11 - 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
